How to Backup Your Folders to Another Folder On The Same Device

How to Backup Your Folders to Another Folder On The Same Device;

At this scenario, I’ll backup a Folder in “Single Disk” to another folder in “RAID”;

1 – Go to “Access Raid Managment -> Shared Folders -> Create a Network Share” and choose your second HDD or RAID before creating folder.

2 - If you havent Enable Rsync Server, go to Applications -> Backup Server -> RSync Server.

Enable “Enable backup from a remote server to the local host” & “Allow remote Rsync server to back up data to NAS” options. Enter Username / Password (I prefer same as admin user / password to fill) and press Apply.

3 - Now go to Backup ->Remote Replication -> Create a Replication Job

-

4 -  – Type same Ip adress of your NAS device in “Name or IP address of the remote server”. Also type username and passwor and press Test. If You see “Success” at the top, go to next step.

5 - Choose folder on the second HDD Folder as “Destination Path”

6 – At “Local Source”, Choose which files you want to backup. (Ps : You can choose sub folders)

7  – Choose Replication Schedule;

8 – Choose Replication Options;

9 – Now its ready. Also you can start replication whenever you want.

    Does this actually go out on the network? Or is QNAP smart enough to just copy internally without using the tcp/IP stack? Also, if I want to copy to another folder on the same drive, can I? What is the reason for putting the destination share on a different drive in your example?
