On a Windows 8 Pro machine using Windows 7 File Recovery Backup i’m getting the same error. However, it’s working from a command prompt using Wbadmin:

wbadmin start backup -backuptarget:\\server\sharedlocation -allcritical -user:domain\username -password:XYZ

.
III – If Not Solved, Check Your Security Settings On Your Network & Check These Settings On Qnap Side,

1 – try to map that folder to your windows PC & try again;

Download Qnapfinder from www.qnap.com under Support -> Download -> Utalities

After Qnapfinder scan & find your Qnap, just press on it. Then press connect -> Storage Plug & Play;

,

Login with your username & password;

,

Choose the folder that you want to use; (if you want differen root fodler, please check “how to create new share folder” document)

,

Now Qnap creates a shortcut for your folder, and you can use this folder as you wish.

.

2 – Give full access right (even guess access) for test, and try again

3 – change your smb version to 3.0 and try again?

Set up SMB 3.0 in QTS 4.2

  1. Enable SMB 3.0
    Launch QTS and go to the “Control Panel”.QNAP

    Go to “Network Services” > ”Win/Mac/NFS”.

    QNAP
