Recover Data with R-STUDIO

 

If you accidently delete some important data, or fully format your Qnap, you can recover your datas with R-Studio program.

+You need a computer and your Qnap HDD’s to recover.

1 – First Plug out HDD’ on your Qnap,and plug them to your Pc while its power off. After Plugin all HDDs, just start computer;

2 – Install R-Studio and Run the software;

4 – When you chek your HDD on windows, they seems like this. Just be sure that all of your HDD’s are recognized in windows;

5 – Now its time to add this HDD’s our virtual RAID in right order. To understand this, first check all HDDs seral numbers;

6 – Now, choose “Create Virtual RAID” à “Create Virtual Block RAID”;

.

7 – Now its time to add our HDD to our virtual RAID. All of your datas stored in Partition 3 on every HDD, When you plug them to windows device.

At menu at left sice, check the highest size, and simply drag this part to our virtual RAID 5; in righ order.

My first HDD serial number is 9wm6fdej,

Its data partition is : hard disk volume 11

First drag this HDD tou virtual RAID!

 

My second HDD serial number xxx

Its Data partition is : hard disk volume 7

Secondly Drag this HDD to Virtual RAID

My 3.th HDD serial number is yyy

Its Data partition is : hard disk volume 15

Now Drag this HDD to Virtual RAID

My 4.th HDD serial number is qqqq

Its data partition is : hard disk volume 3

and Finally, Drag this HDD to Virtual RAID

8 – Now choose RAID type RAID 5, and be sure this HDD order is right;

A – HDD volume 11

B – HDD volume 7

C – HDD volume 15

D – HDD volume 3

9 – Now, Choose RAID type as RAID 5, click on Apply changes immediately, and press “More”. Save this settings.

10 – Now a volume under your virtual RAID should appear. Simply right click and SCAN your Volume to recover. Or if you need all of your datas, simply click Recover All files, and show a destination to recover.

Note : If a volume under Virtual Block doesnt appear, that meand R-Studio count recognize your RAID. Your RAID must be detectetable at Qnap. If it seems Unmounted or inactive, R-Studio couldnt recognize RAID volume.

11 – go to left panel (Drivers) and at you virtual RAID right click mouse, select “scan” :

12 – Start scan your HDD:

13 – 1TB will take 11 hours:

.

 

 

 

.

14 – After scan done. Choose first block (928.53GB) “Open Drive Files”:

.

15 – You can see what you delete in Qweb folder: (Some Red Cross mark file is dead. You can’t recover it!!) (No luck this time……)

.

16 – Choose recover files save to where: (Here I choose more free space D:\)

17 – When done. You can see recover files at d:\

    Excellent blog and this worked for me with 4 disks from a D-LINK DNS-343 configured in a RAID 5 set. I just need to go buy R-Studio now to recover the large files! Thanks!
