I have set up a 2-way RTRR between two Qnaps. It works in general, but there is a problem: deleted folders keep reappearing unless I don’t delete them on both Qnaps. Same thing if I rename a folder on only one Qnap – after the next sync I have both the renamed and the original folder back. Although I selected “delete extra files”. Any idea why this happens?

    Did you solved it yet?
I am going to buy also two NAS for georedundant sync and what you describe is a no-go.

Hi, havent heard this problem from any costumer so, maybe something wrong with firmware. Did you try to upgrade it? (Dont install 4.1.1, stand on 4.1.0 and try to reinstall 4.1.0 back again)

Also did you try to contact with offical Qnap support team @ http://www.qnap.com ? They can check and maybe solve problem with remote connection.

  4. Jasper Kemp says:

I also have this exact same problem. Does anybody have a solution already?
I added a case at QNAP support but no response yet…

    Dear support,

one of our customers has two sites (Netherlands and France) with two TS-469 Pro’s.
They are using multiple RTRR 2way sync jobs to update the data on both locations.

The problem is when a file is deleted, some time later it automatically comes back.
When the file is deleted, a new file is added by user, the RTRR job restores a renamed file in the same folder.
On all the 2way sync jobs the Conflict Policy is set on ‘Newer files win’.

What is causing this problem and how can we resolve this.

    +1

I have a pair of TS-421′s at two locations (one primary, one secondary) and am using RTRR to do two-way remote replication.

Same problem here – but this problem just appeared since the last update.

Users can delete files from the primary, but they reappear once RTRR runs. It used to be that deleting from the primary would delete it from the secondary too. But something has changed.

  6. Peter says:

Any news on this issue on replicating a delete operation onto the second QNAP under two-way-synchronisation, especially when using QTS 4.12?
